We are proud to present Ancestor Gesture: Diviners, an exhibition by Anishinaabe artist Charlene Vickers at NADA’s new, year-round project space, located on the 2nd floor of Chinatown’s East Broadway Mall.

Ancestor Gesture: Diviners drawings embodies spatial and gestural presence in a series of energetic marker drawings on paper. Within the works, vertical lines, colour and the artists gesture evokes as a clump of grass; pink and blue fire; a memory of bullrushes in her aunt’s backyard; and how she imagines the hair of her birth mother to lay and fall down her back. At the core of the Diviners series, Indigenous presence, memory and healing reside.
