Ceremonial/Art is pleased to present our fifth exhibition Transmissions by Capilano, Tlingit, and Kwakwaka’wakw artist Gigamei Kukwits. Metaphysical contemplations inform these new landscape paintings, with house fronts, animal glyphs and references to the Orion constellation. Kukwits is a seeker; concepts of time, place, and reflections on astronomical connections to sacred objects, specifically the Copper situate these works somewhere between science fiction, and Potlatch culture.
